Beautiful week for tennis. Here is recap.
Monday NETT- first 3.0 nett match for the season. we only got 2 points but still working on partnerships.
Wed NETT 3.5-tough team. we lost all lines but good playing.
Fri USTA 3.0 - Second team win for the fall season. Won all doubles lines but lost singles. Good playing, Way to go girls.
Next thur for team drills we will be doing match play and rotating out a small group to do drill with Joey.

Great way to start off the fall tennis season. Here are the results.
NETT 3.5
For this week we are number one. We have 7 points. The other team had to forfeit 2 lines so we only played 2 lines. We won one and split sets on the other but lost that line
USTA 3.0
The other team had to forfeit one line. We played 3 lines. One line 2 and split sets on line 1 and 3. Gave us the team win for our first match this season.
Fall 2011 Kickoff
Great mini camp yesterday. Everyone was there except for one. Heard lots of positive feedback.
Welcome to our new ladies. We are glad to have you on the team. Here is a recap and some more info.
- Make sure you mark your availability for the teams by going to Tennispoint. Once we get everyone's availability, we will get lineups done. Our plan is to get one month done for NETT and USTA will be done weekly. Lineups will come out on the weekend for the following week for USTA. We can't get this next weeks out till everyone goes in and marks their dates.
- Lineups will come from Tennispoint with the email address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Make sure you confirm once the lineup comes out. If not we will need to get a sub.
- Our website, http://www.matchmakers2.com has maps and all kinds of info. It will have links and everything you need.
- Twitter and Facebook links are on home page of our website. Twitter and FB are linked. For rain and last minute notes we use Twitter.Instructions are on the website.
- Everyone needs to have one can of USTA approved balls that are unopened. You will need this in case of makeups or other times the captains aren't there with balls. We did that this year instead of buying extra balls. Just keep your can with you.
- You can sign up to get feeds from this site sent to your email. Then once a day you get an email with anything added to this site.
- Pay attention to start times of matches. We have mixture of times for all leagues this year. Be at the court 30 minutes before match time to warmup.
- If we have enough extra girls there will be two subs each week. If at the last minute you can't play, call the sub for your line, then call Cheryl to let her know who your sub is.
- Janet will be keeping track of the count for drills. You need to reply to tennis point to confirm by Tue morning of each week. She has to turn in our counts. If you have to cancel less than 24 hours before drill you will be charged for drills if we don't have enough. This is only fair so the other girls do not have to pay a higher fee.
Help your teammates - Be positive. During a match never never coach your partner. Only be positive to them. Coaching can get them in a bad spot and they can't do well. Only coaching is at team drills.
- Don't call ball out untill it has hit the ground. Say bounce to alert your partner it is going out. Out is a line call and you can lose the point if you call it early or it isn't out.
- We are trying to get a couple of partners for everyone. if you are new to the team then it is hard to do that until we have seen you at drills for a while.
- Be available. If your availability is off and on then you might not play much because we can't get you in on the days you can play.

USTA Fri 3.0 Advances to Playoffs
Great playing ladies! Our 3.0 USTA team came in second place in the Friday 2011 spring league. Now the team advances to playoffs to determine the Ft. Worth champion. Playoffs are the weekend of May 20-22. Way to go team.
